No peace among the nations without peace among the religions.
No peace among the religions without dialogue between the religions.
No dialogue between the religions without investigation of the foundations of the religions

Etymologically, the word Islām is derived from the root s-l-m which has multiple meanings, e.g. to keep the peace, to make one’s peace, etc. Therefore a Muslim is one who makes his peace with God and man. Peace with God implies complete submission to His will, and peace with man is not only to refrain from evil or injury to another but also to do good to him; and both these ideas find expression in the Holy Qur’ān as the true essence of the religion of Islam: “Nay,-whoever submits His whole self to Allāh and is a doer of good,- He will get his reward with his Lord; on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve” Islam is thus, in its very inception, the religion of peace, and its two basic doctrines, the Unity of God and the unity or brotherhood of the human race, afford positive proof of its being true to its name.
